36 Hours in New York City - The 2nd 18

36 Hours in New York City - The Second 18

It is a good thing that we learned to walk. Walking NYC is relatively easy compared to Seattle, NYC is flat.  After Brunch at the Butcher's Daughter we walked to the Whitney Museum near the shore of the Hudson River.

Blue dot = Whitney Museum

We started on the top floor of the Whitney Museum to see the Jason Moran's exhibit

Jason Moran is a product of a Houston Texas High School that churns out Jazz Musicians, much like Garfield in Seattle.

There is also a cafe and rooftop patio for some great views, That is the Statue of Liberty in the distance.

The Rose

This one spoke to me. Those in the mainstream have swallowed the bait hanging from some chosen pole hook line and sinker. We are of course part of this group.

The next several pics are part of the Alphabet City motif, the Admiral wanted to take some pics alphabet home to our younger grands.

There are many lights in the city pointing towards Social Justice.

After the Whitney we took a walk down High Line Park, an old elevated light rail converted into a park.

As we descended from the High Line Park trail we walk by this parking lot.

Be sure to read all the rates/fees first.

We stopped for Coffee and Tea at the High Line Hotel

We are flying out on the 31st before the NYC gremlins come out.

A nice day for coffee on the Patio

We stepped into a shopping center full of Halloween shoppers to find Ella a Bucket.

Soon we came upon a couple of blocks of nothing but garden shops.

Our best view of the Empire State Building

A whole lot of accepting Diversity started here.

The Arch at Washington Square Park

So many people live in small spaces so they really enjoy the  parks.

We were sent to this shop in the Univ. of NY campus to get some vegan Banana Nut Bread. Seen in the upper left.

But the Admiral asked if she could buy a whole loaf, they said Sure!
They cut it in half & packed it so we could transport it back to Texas

Then we all retreated to the Hotel to rest for Dinner. We walked to a subway entrance and took one to Brooklyn. The restaurant was just a short walk from the subway. This would be our third Vegan meal with our Austin family in NY.
Ellas Birthday Dinner at Modern Love, Where Else?

The opportunity to try a East Coast Craft Beer, Bridge & Tunnel Amber Ale..Very different from PNW style, but it could grow on you.

So we ordered several entrees and just shared Vegan  family style including Mozzarella Sticks, Cesar with Tofu, Fries, Stuffed Pumpkin, BFT, Shawarma, and Dessert Brownie, Cannoli, Pumpkin Cheescake!

I had no idea what I was eating but it was Awesome!

Everyone would eat Vegan if they had knew how to prepare food like this

Birthday 20, all Modern Love!

This interesting community center in Brooklyn.

The inscription on the Statue says
"In Pursuit of Magic"
Ella's motto
