June 2025 Seattle Continued

 June 2025 Seattle Continued

June is sometimes referred to June Gloom in Seattle due to lots of rainy days sprinkled with a few Sunny warm days hinting the arrival of summer in July. Fortunately, June 2025 had several days each week with sun and temps above 60. Rusty, a charter Captain on our dock thanked us many times for bringing the sun from Texas to Seattle.

It was time foe SNOWBALL to get a good exterior cleaning and Waxing. I had contracted with a previous company that waxed the hull three years ago. The prices had really gone up since then, just like everything else and the wait time was very long. And then I saw this Ad on Facebook:

I Messaged these guys and they gave a very reasonable quote, several $100's cheaper. I cancelled the previous appt. and hired these guys. They were on it a week later and did a fantastic job!

William and Max are the guys you want for the job!

Everything is shiny again

The Fifth Grade students exhibit their research on Social Justice issues they feel strongly about.

Education has come a long way since my teaching career, these topics were reserved for high school age back then.

It's a different world with the prevalence of social media and just the general awareness of young kids. They want factual answers to their questions.

A foggy June morning

This guy pulled in next to us at the car wash, I had to take a picture of this 65' Camero SS

June invited us out

A week day sail in 10-15 NW, perfect for a full sail cruise.

It was field day, we volunteered to help, fortunately we got a shady spot. the kids entered through the bus, jumped to a mat, then danced through the bubbles to where we were ready to swing the jump rope.

Three hours of swinging the jump rope, funny only my quads were sore the next day!

The Sealions are still hanging out, they will all leave for California by July.

Interesting whispy clouds , only over Shilshole Bay, the rest of the sky North and South were cloud free.

Saturday race, these four boats are in the lead.

These three are in the mid group, the lead four are well ahead.

Some sort of training going on.

They are hoping Summer arrived early.

Always an interesting vessel, a converted work boat for pleasure cruising.

Our son Graeme has a Scout, they catch our eye.

We were fortunate to be invited to tag along with
Seattle family for three of the 1st FIFA Club World Cup Games. The Seattle Sounders FC was invited due to their winning the 2022 CONCAF Champions League. With the luck of the draw they were put in the Group of Death with Botafogo (Brazilian Club)  where they had an amazing showing losing only
2-1. We were sitting near the Botafogo supporters section and they were louder than the rest of the stadium combined. They should open a supporters school to teach how to be a Fan!

The second game was Atletico Madrid 3 VS Sounders FC 1

River Plate had a huge number of fans, they all had flags that might have exaggerated their presence. Unfortunately they suffered a red card and Inter Milan easily scored a second goal
Inter Milan2 VS CA River Plate 0
