From Princeton to Brooklyn
Our time at Princeton was over. Since we were on the East Coast we wanted to visit our oldest granddaughter, Ella, in Brooklyn. We drove about an hour to take our rent car back to Newark Liberty International airport. We dropped off the car then found the area to get an Uber to drive through The City to Brooklyn. The drive through New York City was about 1.5 hours due to heavy traffic but once we got across the bridge to Brooklyn it was easy peasy. The Admiral is our trip planner forever. She found the Pod which was not to far from where Ella lived.

A relatively new hotel in Brooklyn was busy with activity |
A room at the pod includes a queen bed, a TV, a small desk and a combined shower and toilet, just like on a boat!! |
On the other side of that window is a busy 4 lane street, luckily it was quite in the neighborhood at night! |
We took a walk through the neighborhood the next morning. |
An entire high school dedicated to Automotive training. |
We found the Acres, where Ella suggested we go for a Macha tea |
This some Heavy Duty Macha

This street had blocks of row houses, on Zillow they were listed a $2.2 mil and up. the are mostly two story with a full basement, the newer ones are three stories |
Oh Look another Park along the East River. |
Looking across East River at The City |
Might as well learn how to ride the passenger ferry while we are down here. |
Never saw a vessel like this on the West coast! |
Our commuter ferry arrives. |
We jump off on 34th Street in Manhattan, not where we intended to go but since we there we might as well. But just as I took this pic I heard this loud noise and then... See: https://youtube.com/shorts/UQFq |
We walked down the water front and what do you know there is the UN building right there. |
Looking back at Brooklyn
Glad I took a pic of the buildings at North Williamsburg so we knew when to get off. |
Ella takes the L when she goes to work at Brooklinen |
Next Morning another walk through the parks and neighborhood, Lots of people going into Bernies, I want to try it next time we up here
We found Brooklinen and go in to check it out. |
Everybody knows Ella and we have fun talking, I buy a Brooklinen T shirt!
Interesting idea.
Our daughters family has been in the City going to museums, theatre and NYC stuff. But we all wanted to see where Ella Lived so we met at her apartment and the kids were thrilled to play with her famous cats. |
We get a second fun dinner with Ella at The Butcher's Daughter which is just across the street from the Pod Hotel.
We walk across the street to The Butchers Daughter for breakfast. |
Breakfast starting with another Macha tea before we depart for La Guardia airport and a short flight to West Virginia. We plan to stay a week at The Fillies which is a 20 minute drive to Parisburg, VA where the Admiral is going to dig deep into her Pearson ancestory. |
100% Vegan and it taste great!!! |
Looking back as we depart La Guardia (center left) you can see the region all the way to the Atlantic |
New York City on the left, Brooklyn on the right separated by the East River |
