Aug 2023 Which Way Do We Go? OH, That Way, Follow the GrandKids

Well as it turns out August is the primary Summer month in the PNW. If your going to do it in the Summer then do it all in August. Pics are worth a thousand words so for this blog the pics will do most of the talking.

The bug guy comes to remove a Yellow Jackets nest, he uses a vacuum to suck out as many as possible then he takes they are frozen and sold to pharmaceutical company to make medicines.

Drew gets free rowing lessons aboard Snowflake

 another interesting power boat

The Salmon runs begin in late August, a Washington Fish and Wildlife person takes data on every fisherman's catch.

And then the Geoduck boats come in.

About 50 pounds per crate, 30-40 Geoducks (pronounced Gooey Ducks)

This load of Geoduck will be in Hong Kong by the next day.

Only a matter of time before a party pirate ship shows up in every port.

You can even take dingy classes on Lake Union

Lake Union Police Boat stays busy keeping all these activities Safe!
See: https://youtu.be/oI8-vF8tizQ for Float Plane returning to dock at Kenmore Air just behind the Police Boat!

The Blue Angels show up for SeaFest every Year, barely got this pic they are so fast.

With a Hot Tub boat in the foreground, young sailors begin retuning to the Center For Wooden Boats docks.

Very low and High Tides continue in August, This boat was resting on its bottom.

15' + tides

Well Brion Toss has crossed the bar but his company lives on!

This would make a fine dingy.

The family truckster gets Washington plates for the second time!

It's nice when her teachers are in tune.

Drew could not remember this but he sailed that 20' Blanchard all the way across Lake union and back with very little help from me.

This vessel is up for sale, evidently the owner suffered a fatal fall on his beloved boat.

Our first Professional Women's soccer match, The Seattle Rein.

To protect the McIntosh apples from critters.

Lots of things to do with all the rocks in the PNW

I'm lucky this ended in a stalemate, Drew knows way more about chess.

Zoom in on this

Never seen one of these in Texas, and I had thought I had seen every type of European import car before.

The Art
Show at the end of Art Camp

Then off to Gig Harbor for a soccer tournament.

The Air B&B above Gig Harbor

I rode in a Firebird exactly like this one, Bobby Brewster's dad bought it for him when he was a Senior in High School.

Gig Harbor is a Historically significant seaport, featured in so many sailing books.

They did not win but they scored 7 goals in this tournament, Much Better!

Well at least it's not a Pirate ship.

What do you think of this Martti?

There are many power boats as well at Shilshole.

These cranes get a work out, Racing happens every Mon, Wed, Fri nights and Saturday and/or Sunday's

Then for Farm Camp a Air B&B at Lake Sammamish.
