November-December 2024 Nonna Comes for Thanksgiving

November-December 2024 Nonna Comes for Thanksgiving

November continued the unusual string of nice sunny days in Seattle.

Grandparent Camp:

Nonna, the California Grandmother came to Settle for Thanksgiving Week. we joined her in an Air B&B in the Seattle family's neighborhood for  Grandparent Camp.

There was a nice game room in the basement with a full size shuffle board

Nonna, an artist of many colors, brought along a trove of art supplies and skills.

We went everywhere together, Three is better than two!

Mimi assisted with her first cake baking, she did all of it on her own.

It was like this all week.

Early in December a Bomb Cyclone headed to Seattle so we retreated to another Air B&B

Well now we can say we lived through another record storm.

In the night we heard something that sounded like hail hitting the roof. Next morning we discovered it was the small pinecones off the trees, the car was covered in pine needles and cones.

Seattle is full of neighborhoods where the least expensive house in around the $1 million mark. On our walks around the neighborhoods I try to find the smallest home just to see what the value is. This one is in Ballard. It actually looks liveable, most I find in this range needs to be knocked down and rebuild.

Sawnson's Nursery is a great hangout for kids especially during the holidays.

One of the perks of horseback riding lessons is playing with the pigmy goats,

High Tide

When you let your 8 year old granddaughter use your phone.

I needed to stop by Ace Hardware, this old Celica was parked in front. I have not seen one in a long time.

When the shopping mall has complimentary umbrellas for your shopping stroll

We got to see this Holiday lights last year at the Zoo, it was a completely different theme this year.

Sunny but on the Chilly side, The Mountain is Out!

It was near time to return to Austin but we managed one last sail.

Soccer practice, rainbows and chilly.

I think the coyotes are multiplying.

From Sunset park I noticed a barge heading into the marina.

A Ballard Icon

The marina sent out a notice that the cranes at the North end of the marina would not be accessible for a coup[le of months.

Turns out the barges were bringing new steel pilings to replace the old wooden ones on the docks for the yellow cranes.

We seem to always be seated on the side of the plane with the view of the Cascades.

Drove up to Ft Worth to spend Christmas week with Big Dave, Got in some Cousin time with Ann and traded some family history for the Admirals book on the Pearson side.

Also a glorious lunch with life long friends, Lynn Cookie, Rozanne, Jeff, Martti, and me.

We do not get to see each other much but it is so easy to pick up right where we left off.

Three of us are in this group now and I brought along this to share.

The bird flu is showing up everywhere, no one their bird feeders now.

Happy 92 year old Camper

Recently upgraded his computer in his shop, things are finally up to speed now.

Central Texas has been in a sever drought but North Texas gets plenty of rain.

The pond is overflowing

Some new Big Dogs are coming into the neighborhood and they are already leaving their mark.

A Fort Worth sunset.

Our second granddaughter has many talents, how about this one?
