July and August 2024 An Austin Summer

July and August 2024 An Austin Summer

After an extended trip away from home we spent a couple of weeks just getting re-acclimated to Austin. With the Grandkids in Austin for a few weeks we adopted one of our neighbors cat for a  month so they would have a pet for their Austin summertime.

Seabiscuit turned out to be the perfect summer pet for our grandkids

And then a couple weeks later their soccer moms got together for an Edgerock Lunch

Then we went to see the kids at Zach Scott Theater Camp with Uncle Dave Steakley, Producing Artistic Director.

The Pottery was ready to be picked up at Laguna Gloria after being fired but the kids were already back in Seattle. We went to fetch the pieces and took a stroll around the grounds.

The Peacocks all had chicks, first time for me to see the chicks running around.

Austin had an very unusual amount of rainfall in July and into August.

We drove up to visit the Admirals Father on my Birthday, I drove straight to Braum's and got a double dipper.

That evening the Birthday continued at JD's

This old Golf clubhouse in Big Dave's neighborhood has been out of business for several years, a new Office building will replace it.

A Miracle happened when we finally got together with a couple of life long school friends, we had a great 3 hour lunch mostly talking and talking. So many forgotten memories came to the surface. Roxanne on the left and Jeffery in middle right.

I learned Jeffery had a Jewelry and Awards manufacturing business in this building just blocks from Big Dave's shop for around 12 years, I never knew it?

I drove by Jerffery's boy hood home that is just about a mile from Big Dave's house, brought back more memories.
Big Dave is about to turn 92, we will come back up to wish him a Happy Birthday

While at Big Dave's shop the air conditioning stopped cooling, a Ac repair guy came right over, turned out it was a problem at the pole and the city came out next day and corrected the issue with the three phase lines coming into the building.

We had Austin Family dinner at Edgerock. Lucky to get together.

I took my daughters Austin car in for service at the Hyundai dealer, they had this cool engine block glass table in the waiting room.
