Back in Seattle all the way to 2018
When we got back to Seattle it was raining at the airport that night, but the next morning and for 13 straight days we had clear skies and no rain with warmer than usual temperatures. VERY unusual for Seattle in December, I guess we brought all that November Texas sun back with us.
I saw a aircraft carrier Sneaking out of Puget Sound, Marine Traffic just identified it as Navy Unit 85 but it was the Nimitz headed for the coast of Korea to create some world excitement. |
We boarded a Ferry the next day after arriving in Seattle to go check on the boat and spend the day on Bainbridge Island. We found the Coast Guard doing their drills in Elliot Bay. |
They zoomed around the ferries in attack like mode. |
But there was a rainbow awaiting us in Eagle Harbor as a small cloud drifted by. |
It was a football night in Seattle and the city was excited to support their team toward the playoffs. |
12's for sure! |
All animals get to ride mass transit in Seattle, especially a Husky. |
You take advantage of winter sun days and enjoy the waterfront |
Every year, Seattle architecture firms, master builders, and Sheraton Seattle culinary teams come together to build a meticulously planned candy wonderland. The theme of this year's village is "25 Years of Cheer: A Celebration of Seattle." See elements of the city's past and its imagined future in candy form, from skyscrapers to underground tunnels. |
The water world surrounding Seattle is just as fascinating. |
Next the Seattle Art Museum host Light Sculptures complete with sound at the Sculpture Garden. |
Our Seattle family spent Christmas Holidays in California so we boarded the ferry again to spend our Holidays on SNOWBALL |
It was so foggy that morning you could not see 10 yards in front of the ferry, Can you here the Fog Horns? |
Visibility improving, by the afternoon it was all blue skies again. |
A walk at Fort Ward is always great but on a sunny clear day the Olympics are in clear view. |
We walked over to see the new City docks under construction. |
Low tide now, High tide in just a few hours. |
One of our boat neighbors told us a story of a run away ferry many years ago from this facility that services and fixes broken ferries. You can see our Eagle Harbor Marina in the background of this picture. Anyway a Ferry' transmission cable broke and the ferry was stuck in forward, it crashed into the outer D dock of Eagle Harboe Marina and sunk a couple of boats. At the time, There were only two police cars on the island. One ran off a curve as he hurried to the marina. The other one did not realize the steep road down to the marina was covered in sheet of ice and ran so he ran off the road and crashed into the water. |
So peace starts within, you can do it! |
Love will get you up the hill. |
Is That a Snow Bird? |
We decided to forgo driving and take our walk around the neighborhoods near our marina. |
Of course we found a Yeti! |
On a whim we checked to see if some by chance we could score some Seahawk tickets. A great way to spend New Years Eve and Celebrate our 47th.
